About Us

JRegional Connection

The BCLM Region provides members with additional opportunities beyond the branch level, including Quiz, Rally, Prince Philip Games (PPG), Tetrathlon, and regional championships. These events bring together Pony Club members from across the Lower Mainland, creating a larger community and offering chances to learn, compete, and make lasting friendships.Boundary Bay Pony Club (BBPC) is part of the Canadian Pony Club (CPC)—an international, non-profit organization dedicated to developing knowledgeable, responsible horse people. CPC is organized into regions across Canada, and each region is made up of local branches.

BBPC belongs to the BC Lower Mainland (BCLM) Region, which includes branches throughout the Lower Mainland. We proudly serve members from Delta, Surrey, Richmond, and surrounding areas.

Our Motto

Loyalty, Character, Sportsmanship
We aim not only to develop strong, knowledgeable horse people but also to foster the values of responsibility, teamwork, and good citizenship.

What We Offer

At BBPC, learning is structured and instructor-led. Members participate in equine education, stable management classes, and optional mounted activities (for those who have access to a horse through ownership, lease, or borrowing).

Periodic testing opportunities are provided for members who wish to measure their progress against Canadian Pony Club’s national standards. While valuable, testing is not mandatory.

Our Vision

As part of Canadian Pony Club, we share the vision:

To provide the opportunity for every person in Canada to have a positive experience with horses through opportunities:

  • For education
  • To learn responsibility, sportsmanship, and citizenship
  • For enjoyment and/or competitive success with horses

OUR PROGRAM

At Boundary Bay Pony Club, our year blends classroom learning with hands-on experiences and optional mounted activities.

  • Fall (Sept–Dec): We begin with stable management lessons on weekend mornings, focusing on horse care, grooming, saddlery, health, and safety.
  • Winter (Jan–Feb): The focus shifts to Quiz study sessions, preparing members for the annual regional Quiz in late February.
  • Spring (Mar–Apr): We return to stable management to prepare for written testing in April.
  • Late Spring–Early Summer (May–June): Prince Philip Games (PPG) practices and competitions take place, along with riding tests in June.
  • Summer (July–Aug): Optional mounted activities, regional competitions, and campouts provide additional opportunities for learning and fun.

We also organize field trips during the year to stables, veterinary clinics, and training facilities, giving members real-world exposure to equine care and careers.
